When protests erupted in the United States due to the tragic event of George Floyd , many Albanians became aware of # BlackLivesMatter , while others said that "racism has nothing to do with Albania" and the event was very "Americanized". ". Yet we can not say that we are completely distanced from racism towards people of color. Suffice it to recall the incident during an episode of "Hostel by Anabel", where a passer-by addressed an African named "Blackie" (from English "black"). Another case of racism in the workplace and on the streets was made public by the coach of the Tirana football team, Ndubisi Emmanuel Egbo, who during an interview, said that "they spat on him and shot him with bananas."
People are not born racist, but become street. There are times when, with or without our intent, we can be racist without realizing it.
