Israa Seblani, a 29-year-old Lebanese woman, was experiencing one of the most exciting moments of her life, as she prepared the wedding video and posed wearing the white dress, when the powerful explosion in Beirut almost took her life. The video of the creepy moment was spread on social networks and went viral shortly after the tragedy that has so far claimed the lives of 137 people, while more than 5,000 people are reported injured.
Israa, a doctor by profession, works in the United States and went to Lebanon to organize the wedding. One day after the tragedy, she returned to the place where she was making the clip, together with her husband, Ahmad Subeih, a 34-year-old businessman from Lebanon.
"I have been preparing for my day for two weeks and I was happy, like all the other girls. I was getting married. "[I thought] parents who would be happy to see me in a white dress would look like a princess." She told Reuters.
Then he added:
"What happened after the explosion ... I have no words to explain. I was shocked. I was trying to figure out what happened. Will I die? How will I die? ”
Israa also mentioned the moment when they were moving through the streets, after the explosion.
"It was sad. I can not describe the destruction and the noise of the explosion. We are still funky. I have never heard such a noise in my life. "When I woke up and saw the damage in Beirut, I thanked God I was alive."
Despite it all, she is trying to find some joy.
"There is so much damage, many people were killed and others were injured. But when I see myself, my husband and the photographer how we exploded unharmed, I thank God for protecting us. It makes me feel optimistic and continue to rejoice in the purpose for which I came here. ”
