How to minimize pores

Pores are small holes in a person’s skin. If you have large pores, you may never change this fact, but you can minimize them by always keeping them clean and not clogged.

Why do pores enlarge?

According to a 2016 study, the main causes of enlarged pores are:

Excess sebum: This happens when a person's sebaceous glands produce a lot of oil and their skin is oily.

- Decreased elasticity pores around : This occurs where the skin begins to lose elasticity.

- Increased hair follicle volume: This occurs when the pores at the end of the hair follicles become blocked.

When fat / oil accumulates in the pores and combines with impurities, the pores can become blocked. If they continue to remain blocked, acne begins to appear on the face. Having large pores is not a dermatological health concern, it is only an aesthetic issue, therefore they should be normalized and treated as such.

Dermatologists suggest the following ways to minimize pores:

- Selection of water-based products

If you have oily face, which is usually skin with more pores, you should use water-based products. Using products with such, avoids excess oil on the pores. Avoid products with oil content, as they can add fat to your skin, making the pores look bigger.

- Choice of gel-based detergents

A gel-based cleanser helps remove excess oil from the pores, reducing their appearance. Meanwhile, another type of detergent can bring the opposite effect.

- Exfoliation

Exfoliating the skin 1-2 times a week is necessary for deep removal of impurities, especially if you have been outdoors for a long time. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells and excess oil. Use an exfoliator with salicylic acid for even better effect. Be careful not to apply it more than twice a week as even drying the skin too much is not healthy.

- Clay masks

Applying such a mask 1-2 times a week makes the pores not easily clogged. Alternate the days and do not exfoliate the skin on the same day with the clay mask, as this bombardment of the skin with "medication" can irritate you.

- Hydration 

The idea of ??hydrating oily skin may seem annoying, but it actually helps shrink pores, hydrates and softens the skin. Regular hydration prevents clogging of oily pores.

- Cleaning make-up in the evening

Sleeping with cosmetic products on the skin is one of the main reasons for pore blockage. This is because toilets, oils and bacteria "join" in the skin and block it more easily.

- SPF

It is essential to take care of your skin in the sun. If your skin is sunburned, it will dry out and this will make the pore situation worse. Use every day and stay in the shade when the sun is very strong.
