Actor Kevin Spacey was forced to make a public statement, clarifying that he is not homeless, after a recent interview in which he said he lived in hotels and Airbnbs. In a post on social media, Spacey said:
"I'm not in the habit of correcting the media, because if I did, I wouldn't have time for anything else, but after recent articles claiming that I am homeless, I feel it necessary to react, not only to the press, but to the thousands of people who have contacted me over the past few days, offering me a place to stay, or simply asking if I am okay."
He went on to say that he was touched by the generosity of the people:
"But it wouldn't be honest of me to let you believe that I'm truly homeless in the usual sense of the word," the 66-year-old actor said.
His interview with "Telegraph" took a different turn, as he stated that he lived most of the time in hotels and Airbnbs, due to work.
“In my conversation with Mick Brown, the wonderful journalist … I said that I was basically living in hotels and Airbnbs and going where the work was. Just like I did when I first started in this profession. I’ve been working almost non-stop this whole year and for that I’m incredibly grateful.”

Spacey stressed that there are "a lot of people" who are "living on the streets," "in their cars," or are in "terrible financial situations," but he is not in the same situation.
"And my heart aches for them. But it's clear from the article itself that I am not one of them, and I didn't try to say that I am," he clarified.
The "American Beauty" star said in a highly-publicized interview that his financial situation "isn't good" following a sexual assault scandal, which he denied and was acquitted of in court. Kevin added that "the costs over the past seven years have been astronomical."
