Margot Robbie will be the main character in the new movie "Pirates of the Caribbean". Christina Hodson, screenwriter of "Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey", has decided to write a new film starring Robbie.
The film will not be a spin-off of previous films, but an original story with new characters.
At the moment, the film is in its early stages. Jerry Bruckheimer, who has also produced previous films, will serve as producer.
Since 2013, Johnny Depp has headed as rum-loving capacity Jack Sparrow. He also appeared in the latest film "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" (2017).
Depp is a controversial figure already, following the accusations of his ex-wife, Amber Heard, of abuse. The actor has denied the allegations and claims to be the victim of abuse.
