A Belgian prince has publicly apologized for being positive about Covid-19 two days after returning from a multi-person event in Spain. Prince Joachim, 28, is the grandson of the King of Belgium and was in Spain a few days ago for a party with other people.
"I would like to apologize that I traveled and did not respect the quarantine measures. It was not my intention to offend or disrespect anyone in these difficult times. I am very sorry and accept the consequences of my action." he expressed.
The prince traveled from Belgium to Spain on May 24, during which time he attended an event with about 12 or 27 guests. Two days later, the test was positive.
According to the Spanish government's measures, all those traveling to Spain must first be quarantined for two weeks, with minor exceptions.
Add to this the fact that 15 people who do not live in a single home are not allowed to stay together. Authorities are now investigating the incident in which the prince took part and are thought to have been more than 27 people and all have broken the rules of quarantine and social distancing.
The Belgian prince, already isolated, has mild symptoms of the disease.
