Coronavirus spread: Albanians do not believe in Pipero's theory

From genesis to infection and cure, coronavirus that causes Covid-19 disease has been consistently overshadowed by a shadow of doubt. In recent days, however, a clearer picture is emerging of how Covid-19 spread around the world, including Europe.

In an interview with Open Channel on Top Channel, epidemiologist Pëllumb Pipero - to whom citizens and the media have referred for almost a lot of information about coronavirus - said he did not believe the virus had spread to Albania earlier than mid February. Seen clinically, Pipero said he believes SARS-CoV-2 "entered" Albania in late February. Recall that the first two cases were confirmed on March 9.

However, there seems to be some skepticism about the spread of coronavirus in the country. In an Anabel.al poll , 51% of voters said they believed "coronavirus first circulated in Albania in January". 22% are of the opinion that Covid-19 "circulated at the end of December, the same as in some European countries", while 23% think that the first cases were registered in "early-mid-February". Only 3% agree with Piperon.

Of course, in such situations it is difficult to separate the facts from the hypothesis, but recent research shows that the virus circulated in European countries much earlier than health officials officialized the first infected.

Yesterday (May 5) a French hospital confirmed that from the samples collected in 24 patients, they have treated a patient with coronavirus since December 27th. France reported the first infected two months later. Samples were collected to investigate the flu and PCR tests were used, which were also used to detect the presence of coronavirus in the body. Each of the samples was tested several times to make sure there were no errors.

In addition, a new genetic analysis of SARS-CoV-2 shows that the virus has been circulating around the world since the end of 2019. Researchers in Britain treated the virus mutations and found evidence that it has spread rapidly. For a virus to spread, its structure must mutate. We are very, very, very sure that worldwide broadcasting started at the end of last year. That's because all the samples taken in every corner of the globe show multiple mutations, and the mutations are similar, "said Francois Balloux, a geneticist who led the study.

In late April, Saimir Kodra said an anti-corruption test had "passed the coronavirus since January". Even if these studies and statements did not exist, it seems that the citizens still believe that "a different virus circulated in January and February". In a discussion on anabel_media on Intagram, some of them write:

"I fell ill on February 22. I had a fever for 1 week between 38.5-39.5 degrees Celsius. I had a fever, a terrible cough; I coughed so much that I had severe chest pains and seemed to be holding my breath. It lasted 2 weeks. It has not been an absolute flu at all, as I have been very close to my close friend and have had the same symptoms. After I stabilized in terms of temperature, the cough lasted another week. "

II

"After staying in Naples, my fever started from nothing. I had a very high temperature, but since I had gone on a business trip, I overlooked the situation and neglected myself. Those two days I was almost silent, with a cough I said very bad. The situation continued for 2 weeks in a row. I was treated at home with a prescription with antibiotics and aerosol. "I'm 22 years old and it's been the longest and most exhausting flu I've ever had."

III

"I had just arrived in England and I had a fever for 4 days in a row. On the second day, coughing and some difficulty breathing began. I went to visit and they gave me cold medicine. I passed it easily. After me, Mom also passed, but without temperature; just a lot of coughing and shortness of breath. ?

"In early February, I caught a flu that looked like a plague. It started with sore throat and a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, then after about 4 days the temperature rose. I had a high fever and began to feel nauseous. At night I could hardly sleep because I had so much difficulty breathing. Don?t talk about the cough I had; when I coughed the whole neighborhood heard. They gave me a graph and told me I had a cold in my lungs. I got syrup and a few other things. It lasted 2 weeks. "

V

"On March 11, I had a fever and it lasted for 5 days. Doctors at 127 told me to take ibuprofen, paracetamol, the tip that they had nothing to do with me, as long as I had no contact with a person coming from outside and had no coronavirus according to them, although I explained the fact that I work in a clothing store on the main street and it is not known who came there. After 2 days, I started having a dry cough and I was coughing for 3 weeks. ?

VI

"It simply came to our notice then. In late February-early March, after I came from Montenegro. At first my husband got sick, then I did. High fever, fever, leg pain I couldn't even sit on. We got sick as a family. ?
