Due to the situation created by the coronavirus, the Minister of Education, Sport and Youth, Besa Shahini, stated that the lessons will be conducted at home in virtual classes. The recently published guidebook states that the purpose of home-based learning ?is to keep students engaged with the subject content and reinforcement of the knowledge acquired so far so as not to be distracted from the learning process until resuming the regular teaching process. ?
Teacher Duties:
- communicates regularly with students and their parents and with educational institution leaders that students should be committed to lessons even at home;
- Implements the work plan (calendar) developed by the school management; the form and manner of group communication with students and their parents (WatsApp, e-mail, online platforms, facebook, skype, video, etc.) for communicating learning content / topics;
- defines instructional content (video-selfies) that will be recommended to students while respecting the syllabus of their subject for the respective class;
- provide guidance to the established group on the acquisition of teaching content through messages and videos prepared by it;
- responds to questions that address students with regard to teaching content / topics;
- gives assignments, exercises, supplementary readings, quizzes etc. the content / subject of the lesson depending on the specifics of each subject;
- take care not to overload the students with the learning content by focusing on the key knowledge and reinforcement of the knowledge acquired so far;
- informs the school management about the progress of the learning process at home.
Student tasks:
- are committed to the tasks assigned by their teachers;
- address questions to their teachers about any difficulties and uncertainties they may have regarding the recommended teaching content / topics;
- follow videos and online tutorials suggested by their teachers;
- can send different assignments / exercises / tasks performed by them during their stay at home to receive feedback from the teacher and other students.
Duties of parents:
- be part of the communication groups with the teachers according to the plan determined by the school management;
- obtain any information coming from the school management and the teachers concerned;
- support the child in learning at home by facilitating teacher information retrieval.
