According to preliminary data, the killing of the 59-year-old man by his spouse was a result of jealousy. The perpetrator, 63-year-old identified as Ruzhdi Tosuni, has hit his wife with an iron lever and scissors after a heated debate at their clothing shop in Durres.
After the crime, according to ABC News, he closed the shop shutter and went to buy tobacco. He then went into the pharmacy next door to their business and told him what he had done. The 63-year-old alerted police and waited for their arrival, sitting in front of the store door.
According to the groom's testimony, such a tragedy is unexpected as the couple has not had any conflict in the past, but believes that the reason for the killing was his jealousy.
