No wonder people say dogs resemble the owner. Such a phenomenon is not a coincidence, but it has found an explanation to scientists as well.
Chances are that a puppy you took home after finding you abandoned on the street resembles you is scarce, but the opposite is true if you have been trying to get a dog for a long time.
Dr. Stanley Conor explains that people tend to choose things that "reflect" their lives and appearance. It's a situation similar to choosing a casual book. Research has shown that women with long hair tend to choose Springer Spaniel or Beagle puppies, while women with short hair choose Basenji or Siberian Husky.
So if people say the dog resembles you, that is explained by your unconscious choice.
Likewise, dogs tend to copy your behavior. Even experience changes similar personality changes that you experience.
