In 2001, Marc Jacobs introduced the collection the day before the 9/11 terror attack, when al-Qaeda militants hijacked four aircraft and attacked the Twin Towers in New York, the Pentagon, and an uninhabited area in Pennsylvania. "It's been 18 years since that day and we will never forget it," he said.
"But this show, just like the 2001 one, is a celebration of life," the renowned designer later recalled, recalling 2,996 victims.
The Spring 2020 Ready-to-Wear Collection is a variety, blending extravagant 60s and 80s style details to recall the period Jacobs created for Louis Vuitton. Makeup artist Pat McGrath, along with Jin Soon Choi and Mei Kawajiri, brought individual looks to each of the models - from metallic to voluminous eyelashes.
The collection, which was unveiled yesterday, just days before New York Fashion Week ends, comes in warm, bold colors and comes as a fresh spring breeze.
