
Renowned Albanian actor, Naun Shundi, has passed away at the age of 66. The sad news was announced on the official website of the private theater "Zonja e Bujtinas", founded by him and his wife, Raimonda Shundi.
He had been battling skin cancer for a long time. He initially went to France for treatment, and then returned to continue his treatment in Tirana, at the University Hospital of Tirana.

Who was Naun Shundi?
Naun Shundi was born in Tirana in 1959. In 1977, he graduated as a director at the High School of Culture, while in 1983, he graduated in acting at the Higher Institute of Arts (today the Academy of Arts).
In 1985, he started working as an actor at the National Theater, then transferred as a director to the "Dardania" Palace of Culture in Bajram Curri. In 1986, he returned to the National Theater.

During the years 1993-2000 he worked as a teacher of acting, directing and artistic speech in the directing department of the Academy of Arts. In 1995 he completed a specialization in directing at the National Theater in Bucharest and the Department of Directing at the Academy of Theater and Film in Bucharest.
Shundi and his wife founded the theater in 2022, an initiative that came as a result of the collapse of the National Theater.
