Today, on CNBC's financial program, Squawk Box, David Beckham commented a bit on social media use and mental health.

According to him, he has always tried to teach children the pros and cons of these platforms. 

“I've always talked about social media and its power. The good and the bad. The bad is what kids can access these days and it can be dangerous. But what I've noticed personally, especially with my own kids, is that it has to be used for the right reasons. I've had the opportunity to use the platform and my influence for UNICEF, and it's been an incredibly useful tool to raise awareness about what's happening in the world with children.”

This statement comes a day after Brooklyn's confession on Instagram about the tension in the relationship between him, his partner and his parents.

Although he didn't comment directly on the situation, perhaps because his role as a father doesn't allow him to make such scenes in public. He said that the children (especially Brooklyn) "had made mistakes" on these platforms, but a good parent allows his child to make mistakes.

“I've tried to do the same thing with my children, to educate them. They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That's how they learn. That's what I try to teach them. Sometimes you have to let them make mistakes too.”

The only thing we can say is that no matter how calm David appears in the face of this situation, the eldest son's "mistake" will bother him and Victoria for quite some time.
