One of the questions that is asked quite often in discussions among cinematographers is which of all of Quentin Tarantino's wonderful films is the best.
While it's certainly a matter of taste, the director himself recently answered this question, revealing which film he loves the most.
Speaking on the podcast The Church of Tarantino , the 62-year-old director said that 2009's masterpiece, "Inglourious Basterds," is the best of his nine films, but 2019's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" is his favorite.
"But I think 'Kill Bill' is the movie that no one else would have done like me," he added, referring to the series of martial arts action films starring Uma Thurman.
"Every element of it feels like it's been nourished with tentacles and bloody tissue, by my imagination, my identity, my loves and passions."
"So I consider 'Kill Bill' the film I was born to make, 'Inglourious Basterds' my masterpiece, but 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' is my favorite," he concluded.
Regarding the scripts of his films, Tarantino, who made his directorial debut with "Reservoir Dogs" in 1992, described the film "Inglourious Basterds" as the best, followed by "The Hateful Eight" and "Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood" in second and third place.
