After criticism from celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian and millions of other users, Instagram has canceled some changes to the application.
The platform was accused of imitating TikTok after people noticed that their Instagram was "filled" with many videos (Reels), including videos from accounts they did not follow.
Instagram announced that it was pulling back on some changes, including a test version of the app where posts were displayed in full-screen.
The platform will also make changes to the algorithm that caused videos from accounts that people didn't follow to appear.
"I'm glad we took risks — if we're not failing every now and then, we're not thinking bold enough," said Instagram head Adam Mosseri in an interview with Platformer. "But we definitely need to take a big step back and regroup."
Previously, Mossieriu stated that "more and more Instagram will contain videos over time". But he admitted that Instagram had gone too far with the current changes.
