Princess Beatrice and property mogul Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have crowned their love story at a private ceremony in Windsor. According to the BBC, the wedding took place on Friday morning, in a ceremony attended by the queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and other relatives.
The new wedding date was not announced in advance and Buckingham Palace said the ceremony was "small". The ceremony took place with all relevant government instructions to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Mapelli Mozzi - known as Edo - and Beatrice met and started dating in the fall of 2018. They got engaged during a weekend trip to Italy last September. He also has a son with ex-fiancée Dara Huang. The princess and Edoardo's wedding was planned long ago, but fate wanted it to be canceled several times.
Initially, Beatrice was forced to postpone the wedding due to the scandal of her father, Prince Andrew. Then, tensions in the royal family after the decision of Meghan and Harry, made it even harder to get married, but finally it seemed as if the couple managed to plan a date. They were to be married on May 29 at The Chapel Royal, but Queen Elizabeth II canceled any event due to the coronavirus.
Beatrice, who is ninth in line for the throne, works for Afiniti, an artificial intelligence firm, where she serves as vice president of partnerships and strategies.
