After nearly a decade away from the cameras, Meghan Markle has officially returned to the world of acting.
The Duchess of Sussex was photographed on the set of the new comedy film "Close Personal Friends" in Pasadena, where she plays... herself! The film also stars Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Jack Quaid and Henry Golding.
According to sources for People, Meghan "seemed calm, happy and very friendly" during filming, while her role, although small, is a big moment for her return to the art she once loved.
"This is her way of testing out how it feels to be back on set," a source from the production said.
Prince Harry is almost the emotional producer of the project, as he “just wants Meghan to do what makes her happy.” Given his recent irritation with Meghan’s social media exposure, this enthusiasm for a return to acting is surprising.
Ironically, the film takes place in Santa Barbara, where the couple has lived since 2020, a detail that makes her return even more symbolic: a new chapter, in the place where their new freedom began.
