In an interview with Arbana Osmani, on "Good Morning Stars", Loredana spoke for the first time about her acquaintance and love story with Karim Adeyemi, the German footballer of Borussia Dortmund.
To begin with, Loredana said that it took them a year to decide whether or not to start a relationship, due to the age difference and life experiences they both had. Loredana was 27 when she met Karim, and he was 21.
"We needed a year until we completely stabilized, we understood what was happening. For me, it was more like not being serious, 'he's too young', 'it's absolutely not right', 'it doesn't fit', 'what will mom say?'. It wasn't in my thoughts at all. But then coming out, even though he was 21 at the time... I said, a 21-year-old doesn't stand a chance. Even though now, oh my God, he's like 50, he's very mature."
Age was one of the most frequent discussions in their early days, but now, after 4 years together, Loredana says she doesn't feel any kind of obstacle, because Karim is a very mature guy:
"He also always said 'why do you always mention my age? I'm 21, you don't have to mention it anymore, I'm mature,' he always tried to explain to me. I said 'yes, but you haven't experienced what I've experienced'. Now that I'm 30 and he's 24, I thought I had more experience, but in fact he didn't need these experiences, he understood life, so he's on a better level than me."
Their love has been built slowly, but what has convinced Loredana the most has been Karim's unconditional care for her daughter, Hana:
"What impressed me was that when I went out with him he said 'why don't you take the girl?' I was a little embarrassed because I protect Hana to the max and I said 'I don't want to meet her', I was a little panicked, but when I saw him in moments with the girl, he was [the right one] for me."
Loredana also spoke about the racist comments they have received because of their relationship, indicating that it all happens mostly online, as in Kosovo and Albania, for example, Karim is welcomed:
"I don't like to be victimized, he doesn't like to be victimized either, it's normal that there were comments. I also had that opinion that I love Albanians, but now he seems more Albanian to me than myself. He loves Albania and Kosovo so much, that this convinced me even more. He said 'Why? How nice the people are!' They welcomed him very well in Kosovo."
But how did Loredana's family receive Karim?
"How could they expect it? They said 'it's better not to tell him anything because he'll do what he wants on his own' and they trust me a lot. Now the relationship between mother and Karim is phenomenal. My mother loves him very much."
She expressed the same relationship with her in-laws. Regarding plans to start a family, Loredana revealed that she really wants to, but she is still hurt by her first marriage and for her, marriage is something sacred, so she will think carefully before taking any serious steps:
"Of course I'm very excited [for children], but with the trauma I've had, which I still have, I'm a little scared. I want this to be my last marriage because I don't like getting married 10 times."
