A new analysis shows that China's carbon dioxide emissions have been stable or declining over the past 18 months, suggesting the country may have reached their peak earlier than predicted.

This is related to the massive expansion of solar and wind power, which have offset the increase in demand for electricity.

However, China is not expected to meet its carbon intensity reduction target by 2025, which will require deeper reductions in the coming years.

France is considering imposing a €2 tax on fast fashion imports, targeting platforms such as Shein and Temu, and could come into effect next year, before the European Union implements a similar measure in 2028.

The goal is to limit the entry of very cheap and environmentally negative products that come mainly from China and harm domestic producers.

The French government predicts that this tax could bring in up to 500 million euros in revenue within a year.
