Emmanuel Macron is facing mounting pressure to call early parliamentary elections or resign as his former allies join the opposition in demanding an end to the political crisis that has paralyzed France.

Following the resignation of Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu after only 28 days in office, the country finds itself without a parliamentary majority and without a budget for next year.

While Macron insists he will not leave before 2027, pressure for new elections is growing from all sides of the political spectrum.

A new government report finds that New Zealand's oceans are warming 34% faster than the global average, putting $180 billion in property and $26 billion in infrastructure at risk from flooding and storms.

Sea level rise is expected to reach up to 30 centimeters by 2050, which will turn rare storms into annual events.

Scientists warn that the changes are threatening marine ecosystems, the fishing industry and the very livelihoods of coastal communities.

Japanese scientists have discovered for the first time the biological cause of the "mental fog" that appears in people with Long COVID, proving that this condition is a real brain disorder.

The study showed that patients have increased activity of AMPA receptors, molecules that affect memory and learning, which are also linked to brain inflammation.

The discovery is considered a major step towards developing treatments that can alleviate the cognitive symptoms of Long COVID.
