Each of us is unique, that's for sure, but according to the Myers-Briggs test, we all belong to one of 16 different types. The rarest of these is called INFJ, which comes from the letters of the English words for the concepts of introversion, intuition, feeling, and judgment. This category corresponds to only 1.5% of the general population.
People with this specific personality type, while having an introverted nature, at the same time focus their attention on others. They are quite capable of not letting their emotions control them, but their behavior is dictated, to a large extent, by logical thinking. Depending on the situation, they can find a balance between self-control and spontaneity. Since they combine traits from different personality types, it is not easy to recognize them.
Jane Granneman, author of The Secret Lives of Introverts: Inside Our Hidden World, argues that the main characteristic of an INFJ is introverted intuition. He has the gift, therefore, of perceiving patterns in the world around him, often without even realizing it himself. In this way, he is able to understand the psychology of the character of those around him, a gift that is not always apparent or present in others.
The main flaw of this personality? These people easily put themselves in the shoes of others and can feel what others feel. In this way, such people become very emotional, “sponging up” even the feelings or pain of a stranger – whom they may have read about, for example, in a news story. Especially when it comes to someone close. At least, thanks to their sensitivity, they instinctively understand how to support their loved ones in a difficult time.
