Interrupting skin treatments so that the latter can "breathe" freely for a few days seems to be the newest method of skin care. Dermatologists give the reasons why "skin fasting" is the practice you need in skin care, so that you too can give your portrait a different look without straining it in products such as creams, serums or different treatments.
What is skin fasting?
"For those looking to simplify their skin care routine, taking a break from makeup products can be a big help," says dermatologist Harshna Bijlani. "The idea is that by interrupting, you give the skin a chance to rebalance itself," she continues.
This practice means reducing or eliminating the use of products such as cleansers, toners, serums and exfoliants for a certain period, from a few days to a few weeks. During this time, only a mild cleanser and moisturizer is used as a base to keep the care routine as minimal as possible.
The effects you will see on the skin if you fast:
-Strengthening of the protective barrier
- Reduced sensitivity
-Relief from "satiation" with treatments
-Elimination of some harsh products
Those who like the idea of ??"skin fasting" think that the skin needs some time to see the desired results, but others find that the delay in results is disappointing and choose to give up.
Dermatologists say that you should not give in to this procedure because the results on the skin after fasting will be visible.
