Julia Roberts has been lighting up our screens for almost four decades. Known for her role in “Erin Brockovich ,” which earned her an Oscar, she continues to show her strength and charm today, in her latest project “After the Hunt ,” where she stars alongside actor Andrew Garfield. The latter has praised not only her talent, but also her character and professionalism that distinguish her.
However, despite her life looking like a fairy tale from the outside, Julia admitted in a recent interview with People magazine that the journey hasn't always been easy.
“I don't think I started my career with a lot of confidence,” she confessed. “I met some people early on who were really powerful and influential. It was a big challenge for me to figure out what kind of person I wanted to be.”
For the actress, more important than her career was her development as a person:
"I was more interested in who I wanted to be as a person than what I wanted to do in life. I wanted to build myself and put that person in different professional situations."
She reveals that the period between the ages of 15 and 25 was turbulent:
“I experienced more storms than calm. But there were always moments of gratitude. I thought, ‘Okay, maybe this has to be this hard for a reason.’ Today, I consider those lessons to be among the most valuable, because they taught me my inner strength.”
Julia, who won our hearts with the movie " Pretty Woman ," confesses that her insecurities were real:
“Uncertainty can be paralyzing.”
In a previous interview with People , Roberts revealed what she would tell her 19-year-old self when asked about her twins' 19th birthdays in 2023:
"Stand up straight. Don't be afraid. Everything will be fine. Oh, and don't raise your eyebrows!"
As time goes by, it seems that Julia Roberts only radiates more. In her latest appearance, on October 4 in Los Angeles, at the premiere of her new film, she appeared in a stunning dress, the same one she wore in 2022 for the premiere of “ Ticket to Paradise ”.
