Buta, the rapper from Kosovo whose real name is Betim Januzi, has been released from prison after the court's decision to terminate his pre-trial detention.
The news was confirmed to Indeksonline by the rapper's lawyer:
"Buta's pre-trial detention has been terminated."
The court decided to release him from detention, after evaluating the defense arguments and Buta's request.
The rapper requested his release, arguing that he is the only man in the family and must take care of his mother, wife, and daughter.
"I am the only male in the family and we take care of our 63-year-old mother, 1-year-old daughter and wife, who without me cannot meet their basic needs. I wanted this to be clear and for you to take these circumstances into account," he said.
Buta was arrested on September 11 and sentenced to one month in pre-trial detention on charges of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons. He appeared before the Basic Court of Ferizaj today, October 1.
