Cleansing the face seems like a routine process, but if it is done at the right time it can be transformative for the effects it brings to the skin. The focus this time is not on the cleansers you use or the washing lotions, but on washing your face.
It takes a full 60 seconds for this process to be effective. Dermatologists call it the "60-second cleansing", so not just a quick face wash, but it is advisable to spend a minute massaging the skin and then wash it with soap or water.
"I'm a fan of the 60-second face wash," says dermatologist Kellie Reed. "People who practice this technique are seeing positive changes in their skin by paying more attention to cleaning and washing their skin. Improvements come from more effective removal of make-up, day-to-day impurities such as dust or oil produced by the skin itself,” she adds.
A longer wash means more opportunity to fully cleanse the skin of excess oil and dirt and as a result the active ingredients are unable to penetrate the skin.
But depending on your skin, increasing washing time can also lead to dry skin. If you find that the skin is rougher and tighter after washing, maybe this technique is not right for you. In this case, using a milder cleanser or reducing the time you wash the leather is the best compromise.
