Halsey, who recently revealed to us that she is engaged to 'Victorious' actor Avan Jogia, shared some details from the special moment of her fiance's proposal. During the interview, Halsey revealed that Jogia, 32, proposed in Barcelona, ??where the couple tied the knot.
“It happened to be where we first started dating, so it was really special to us. I wasn't sure I was ready to say yes, but I also thought, "He's the most amazing, smart, sexiest, nicest man I've ever met in my life, so I'm not going to let him get out of hand," she said.
The 29-year-old singer continued: "It was a really sweet proposal. Right after that, he left to shoot a show for about six months in Canada. So we haven't had a chance to be 'engaged', but now he is comes home and I think we'll have all the time we need."
In the past, Halsey said she wasn't interested in the idea of ??marriage. Asked what made her change her mind about marriage, she simply replied: "Avan".
"I love him in such a way that I feel like we'd be just as well off even if we weren't married. But something about the thought makes me want to marry him even more."
Jogia and Halsey were first spotted together in September 2023, when they were photographed kissing in Los Angeles. About a month later, Halsey posted some photos on Instagram with Jogia, thus officially confirming their relationship.
The "Bad at Love" singer confirmed their engagement afterward on X. One post read, "Halsey says she hopes to marry boyfriend Avan Jogia," with a photo of the couple. Halsey responded to the post by correcting the sentence: "with fiance* Avan Jogia."
Halsey was previously in a relationship with Turkish screenwriter Alev Aydin, with whom she has a 3-year-old son, Ender Ridley. The two said they had "an amicable split" after four years together, confirming the split in April 2023.
