Greta Thunberg, Sweden's activist teenager who has called for emergency intervention in connection with the global climate crisis that has occupied the globe has been announced Person of the Year 2019 by Time Magazine. She is the youngest character to be honored with this title.
Thunberg, 16, was praised by Time for the environmental campaign that launched in August 2018, which turned it into a worldwide movement. The activist did not go to school and protested in front of the Swedish parliament demanding that something be done about nature crimes.

"For 16 months, she has spoken with United Nations leaders, met with the pope, rubbed off with the president of the United States and inspired 4 million people to join climate demonstrations on September 20, 2019, the largest demonstration. about climate in the history of mankind, ?the magazine writes.
Thunberg, who celebrates his 17th birthday in January, continues to devote himself to activism. In Madrid last week, she said her voice was being heard, but nothing was done.
Former Deputy US President Al Gore, also a prominent environmental activist, called Thunberg's selection of Person of the Year brilliant.
"Greta embodies the moral authority of youth activism that requires immediate action to solve the problem of the world climate. It serves as an inspiration to me and to people all over the world, ?Gore said.
Others nominated for the same title were Donald Trump and Nancy Pelosi, a Democratic politician in Congress.
