A new study published in the academic journal "Evolutionary Psychology" revealed a new detail about what happens inside the bedroom between girls with long hair and those with short hair.
The image of an ideal woman with long and soft hair is what is projected in the eyes of men. "Such depictions make them seem more appealing to men's view of femininity in general," says Jeong Eun Cheon, lead author of the study.
To find out if a woman's hair had an impact on her activities in the bedroom, the team recruited 204 heterosexual married couples, asking them about their hair quality, length, attractiveness, desire, frequency and sexual satisfaction.
"Men see women with longer hair as more attractive, which in turn resulted in increased sexual desire in partners," said team representatives. "This increased sexual desire was associated with a higher chance of more frequent intercourse within couples."
So while this may be welcome news for long-haired oysters, the academics admitted that more research needs to be done.
Future research should explore how the importance of hair length may alter sexual performance in women and couples in general.
