If you're constantly online (and, honestly, who isn't?), you've probably noticed a new trend on TikTok. People are claiming that the white rabbit has come to "find" them. The idea of ??a white rabbit coming to catch you seems incredibly strange, perhaps even dangerous, but this theory is entirely metaphorical.
It's all based on Lewis Carroll's classic novel, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" (or, as it's more commonly known in popular culture, "Alice in Wonderland"). In the original story, a white rabbit appears and turns Alice's life upside down. To say that the white rabbit "found" you in real life is, essentially, to say that the same thing happened to you.

What does it mean when the white rabbit finds you:
After seeing so many viral videos about the white rabbit, Kate Kesselman decided to publish a post of her own explaining what the white rabbit theory really means. “What is the rabbit theory?” she asked. “In ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ before the white rabbit appeared, Alice was in complete happiness. She was sitting quietly under her tree.”
Unfortunately for Lisa, this state of affairs didn't last long. The rabbit had the "guts" to rob her of any sense of peace she had. "The white rabbit appeared and her life was completely turned upside down," she continued. "So the white rabbit theory, or the rabbit theory, is when the rabbit comes and your time for something is up."

Just as Lisa's happiness ended, according to the trends circulating, it seems that the same thing has happened to many other people in their real lives. As Kesselman described it: "Usually, in a lot of these viral videos, it's said that they're going to experience heartbreak. So when the rabbit shows up, there's going to be emotional pain, the relationship could end."

It's not clear who came up with the white rabbit theory, but it has spread rapidly. TikTok has been filled with posts of people using an eerie sound, resembling the ticking of a clock (very much in the spirit of "Alice in Wonderland"), while sharing an image related to their "white rabbit" moment.
No one knows exactly what causes the pain of heartbreak, so a white rabbit is as much of an explanation as any other.
