Yes, it's official: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged, and fans are gasping for breath. The couple who made us believe in romance again in the age of TikTok shared the news with a joint Instagram post: amidst flowers, bouquets, and a classic stone ring that shines like the two's recent careers together.

In the caption, Swift writes: "The English teacher and the gym teacher are getting married." And if that's not Taylor's way of announcing an engagement, we don't know what is.

Both are 35 years old, and their story began in the summer of 2023, when Travis tried, unsuccessfully, to give Taylor a bracelet with his number on it during an "Eras Tour" concert in Kansas City. A failed attempt that turned out to be the beginning of everything.

After weeks of "tactical silence," Taylor showed up at a Chiefs game, in Travis's mom's suite, cheering from the stadium with him. From there, the romance began, a soap opera with romantic episodes from Montana to London, from the stadium to the stage and now to the altar.

The couple kept their relationship "under the radar" for a while, but it wasn't long before they became the hot topic of every podcast, every tabloid, and every online fan group. 

Over the past year, they traveled the world for Taylor Swift's tour and became much more open about their love.

Now, with a sparkling ring and a proposal amidst a flower garden that looks like it came out of a Taylor music video, they are officially engaged.

Lesson for today? If you don't get lucky with your first bracelet, try again. Maybe one day you'll find yourself in a flower garden, with Taylor Swift by your side and a ring in your hand.
