InterNations - a global community for people living and working abroad - has conducted its annual Expat Insider survey .
After asking 11,970 expats, the organization created a ranking of 50 cities around the world. The Expat Insider 2022 report analyzed destinations around the world and ranked them according to the quality of life for expats.
The survey asked expats to rate the ease of settling, working abroad and personal finances in the city where they lived. This year, four European cities entered the top ten.
Valencia has been named the best city in the world for expats in 2022. Nine out of ten expats said they feel safe in the city. Three quarters of immigrants said they feel at home and happy with their social life.
In Lisbon , people valued the weather and climate, as well as safety. Madrid was praised for its activities and culture of hospitality. In Basel , immigrants were satisfied with the salary but had difficulty socializing.

Paris comes second from the bottom in the ranking of the best cities for expats, criticized for its high cost of living. Two Italian cities are also in the bottom ten. Milanese citizens said they were unhappy with working hours and work-life balance, while Rome was criticized for its labor market and career prospects.
