According to a survey conducted by booking.com, two out of three travelers believe they give their best on vacation. Additionally, one in two take advantage of travel to seek out a place with better weather, a lower cost of living, allowing them to relax and spend less, at least while on vacation. In short, there are (at least) seven types of tourists among us. Find out which one you are:

This type of traveler likes to embody another version of themselves and supports the idea that people tend to show another side of themselves while traveling.
#2 Water enthusiasts
The strong heat is pushing more and more tourists to seek a cool climate, mainly in places with seas, lakes, etc. These trips focus on places with thermal baths, underwater hotels, ice therapy, cruises, etc.
#3 Adventurers
42% of tourists said they are inclined to book a surprise trip where everything, including the destination, is not known until arrival. In 2024, more adventurous travelers, tired of the monotony of everyday life, want to avoid standard vacations. 47% prefer destinations away from touristic places, while a third (36%) would like to travel with foreigners.
#4 Foodies
During the holidays of 2024, food enthusiasts will be even more interested in the origins of different dishes and to discover new specialties. Two-thirds (62%) of those surveyed are most fascinated by the history of gastronomic delights in the past. Through culinary tourism, they are in contact with traditions, geographical areas and products that form the basis of food cultures.

Amidst global uncertainties and an increasingly hectic world, many people book self-care-focused trips to rediscover the lifestyle they truly desire.
#6 Vacation like the rich
With the rising cost of living, people in 2024 use tricks to save money, but at the same time, they indulge in the luxury of experiencing the thrill of traveling like the rich, even for a moment. These people want to look rich.
#7 Environmentally friendly
