Demi Moore was determined to encourage family members of people with dementia to be there for them, present and helpful.
"I think the most important thing I can say is go meet them, wherever they are," the actress said in an interview with Andy Cohen. "If you give up the version they were before they got sick, or the version you would like them to be, only then can you be present and close to them," she added.
This important message from Demi Moore comes at a time when ex-husband Bruce Wills is battling this disease. The news that the famous actor was diagnosed with dementia was confirmed in February 2023 by his family members. Since then, Demi has often stayed close to her ex-husband's current family.
She previously admitted that the experience with Bruce's illness has brought the whole family together and it brings joy to everyone.
Wills and Moore were married from 1989 to 2000. They have 3 children, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, aged 35, 32 and 29 respectively.
