As every end of the year, Google has published its annual summary of trends for a very wide range of topics and tourism is certainly among them. Eager to get back into travel, people have been rejoicing at the lifting of anti-Covid measures and enjoying their freedom, but where?
What needs to be clarified is that there is a difference between "most wanted" and "top trends".
A representative from Google explains that "trending" are searches that had a high increase in traffic over a sustained period in 2022 compared to the previous year.
According to Google Flights, which provides data on where people mainly want to travel this year, the most sought-after destinations are:
