Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are planning the wedding of the century! It's been two years since the Amazon founder proposed to the Emmy-winning journalist with a 30-carat engagement ring while on vacation in Europe, and it's finally time for them to tie the knot.
While specific details have been kept under wraps, the Associated Press reported that the multi-day festivities will kick off in Venice on June 24. During an interview on the Today show in November 2024, the former news anchor said she's approaching her wedding planning like most brides.
"I have to admit, I have Pinterest. I'm just like any other bride," Lauren joked.
Despite the secrecy, the couple's closest relatives have predicted that this wedding will be anything but ordinary.
“I think it’s going to be like something out of Princess Diana’s wedding,” Lauren’s older brother, Paul Sánchez, told TMZ in March 2025. “It’s going to be a great event, full of stars and fun.”
Wedding
The couple will tie the knot in Venice. After the billionaire denied rumors that they were planning a $600 million winter wedding in Aspen, Colorado, Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro confirmed that the wedding will take place in the historic Italian city. However, the wedding festivities could be met with protests, as residents of the city believe that the event will have negative consequences for the city.
“The fake news and announcements that are circulating about Jeff Bezos’ wedding are completely unfounded,” a statement obtained by PEOPLE read, adding that only 200 guests will be invited and that the event will not disturb the city.
“We are working closely with the organizers to ensure that the event will be fully respectful of the delicacy and uniqueness of the city,” the statement continued.

According to an Associated Press source, Bezos and Sánchez are planning to source 80% of the wedding supplies from local suppliers. Rosa Salva, the oldest pastry shop in the city, is preparing gifts for guests.
“I don’t think an event with 200 people will cause problems. It’s responsible tourism. It’s a prestige that a couple like this, who could get married anywhere in the world, has chosen our city,” said Salva.
Although the couple has not confirmed the exact location of their wedding, some rumors suggest that the ceremony could take place on Bezos’s $500 million yacht, the “Koru.” Others mention San Giorgio Maggiore — an island with a historic church and cultural center — or the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, a centuries-old building.
Guest list
The Italian wedding is expected to be a star-studded affair, just like their engagement party.
In August 2023, Bezos and Sánchez celebrated their engagement with guests including Bill Gates at a party on Bezos’ yacht. Three months later, designer Diane von Furstenberg hosted a soiree in their honor in Beverly Hills.
Oprah Winfrey, Salma Hayek Pinault, Barbra Streisand, Miranda Kerr, Suki Waterhouse, Robert Pattinson and other celebrities were in attendance.
As for the wedding, PEOPLE confirmed that Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner are all invited. Sánchez’s close friends Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian could also be on the list, along with Blue Origin space crew members Katy Perry and Gayle King.
The couple will stay at the Aman — the Grand Canal-side hotel where George and Amal Clooney got married in 2014. They’ve also booked rooms at four other luxury hotels: the Gritti Palace, the St. Regis, Belmond Cipriani and Hotel Danieli.
Guests have been asked not to bring gifts for the couple, but to make charitable donations instead. Gifts for guests will reportedly include Venetian glassware from Laguna B and local sweets from Rosa Salva.
Wedding planners
The couple hired Lanza & Baucina Limited, a wedding agency known for organizing high-profile weddings in Venice — including Clooney and Hayek’s wedding. They assured the public that the event would not negatively impact the city, despite protests against mass tourism.
“From the beginning, the instructions from our client and our principles were very clear: Minimize any negative impact on the city, respect for residents and institutions, and employ a large local workforce,” a statement to Page Six read.
The bride's dress
The designer of Lauren Sánchez's dress has not yet been confirmed, but Anna Wintour is rumored to be helping the bride choose the dress and has suggested Oscar de la Renta. The couple was also seen at a dress fitting at a Dolce & Gabbana store in Milan in March 2025.
