We already know how many emotions our eyes can express, but it turns out they also play a role in our personality. According to research, eye color says more about your personality than you might think.

A study has found that the genes responsible for the formation of the frontal lobes of our brains also influence the color of our eyes. Because of this, scientists reason that people with the same common eye color may also share similar personality traits.

Here's what these eye colors reveal about people's personalities:

Light brown color

People with brown eyes tend to be confident. They are also great at handling conflict because they are usually nice people who are willing to listen to other people's points of view before giving their own.

Dark brown or black color

If you have dark brown or black eyes, you likely share many of the same traits as people with light brown eyes. However, you probably have more self-confidence than your brown-eyed friends.

People with blue eyes know how to manage their emotions and can handle negative ones extremely well. Caution is also in their nature, so they tend to evaluate people and situations carefully before diving headlong into them.
