Just imagine yourself: lying on a yoga mat in the middle of a sidewalk where hundreds of people pass every day! Or a moment when you turn to a stranger on the street and simply ask them to have a coffee together. On the TikTok platform, this approach is otherwise known as "rejection therapy" and is becoming very popular, counting up to 54 million posts with the hashtag: #rejectiontherapy.
There are plenty of awkward or daring situations and not everyone is ready to try this method. Many of those who practice this method have turned rejection into their goal, as they are not afraid that others will judge them or treat them strangely. Lying down in the middle of the road, walking into a restaurant and asking for a free lunch, approaching a stranger with an invitation for a cup of tea... All these situations require courage or not, but people seem determined to try them.

According to Rachel Goldberg, a licensed psychotherapist, this therapy is an idea rooted in therapeutic practices.
"The goal of exposure therapy is to help individuals face and gradually overcome their fear by exposing them to the feared stimulus in a safe environment while also fostering trust."
It is a suitable treatment for anxiety disorders, phobias and other conditions when people feel panic.
"Rejection therapy appears to be a breakthrough in helping individuals with various disorders related to social anxiety, rejection sensitivity, and even self-esteem by addressing their fear of rejection," she says.
If you are one of those who feel shy in public or hate the idea of ??attracting attention, then this practice is for you.

Laying down on the street in the middle of people, shouting on a street corner or laying down in the middle of a restaurant takes courage, doesn't it?
Would you try it?
