Britney Spears addressed her fans on Instagram saying she regretted "pretending it was good the last two years". This is her first public statement since testifying in the courtroom on custody and abuse.
In the post, Britney says she did not speak quickly because she was embarrassed to share with others what had happened to her. In the photo posted is a quote from Einstein that says, “If you want your kids to be intelligent, read fairy tales. "If you want to be more intelligent, read more fairy tales."
"I want to tell you a little secret. I believe in how people want a fairytale life and from the way I posted, my life seemed amazing. I think this is what we all strive for. So was my mother. "No matter how bad the day went, for the sake of the children she always claimed that everything was fine." - she writes.
Britney then says she is bringing this to mind because she does not want people to think her life is perfect because it is not at all. She apologized:
"I apologize for being removed as if everything has been fine for the last two years. I did it out of pride and because I was ashamed to share it with you. "
She added that the fact that she appeared on Instagram as if she was fine, helped her a lot.
"Instagram has helped me to show more positive things, to show my presence ... my existence ... and to feel important, no matter what I was going through and it worked."
"So I decided to read more fairy tales," she concluded.
