If you thought of a child, a puppy, or maybe a blue-eyed cat with an American passport, no, it's none of those. Bleona Qereti has just revealed that she has adopted a lion. Yes, a real lion. In Africa. And no, it's not some metaphor for the characteristics that Bleona's partner should have. It's a real lion, named Sarara.
In a recently shared video with Blendi Fevziu, Bleona proudly shows off this "adoption" herself:
"I got this as a birthday present," she says, pointing to the bracelet on her hand, "the value and amount of which goes to save a lion in Africa, it's charity."
Further, Bleona explains:
"You can track your lion with an app, which is a modern combination of charity and animal rescue. This is my lion, Sarara. She has raised $180,000 so far. I can't tell you how much I've given her, but I saved this lion's life. This is the only lion I have. What I want to do is meet Elon Musk and save all the animals in the world."
If it weren't for Bleona, we might have just called it "smart marketing." But knowing Bleona, we know that things that are unusual for many are normal for her. So, it's no surprise that while the rest of the world is sharing photos of puppies and kittens on Instagram, Bleona has her own Sarara, a rescued African lion.
And Elon, if you're reading this, respond to Bleona's request, it's for the good of the animals and the planet.
