Billie Eilish has made a reaction against the packaging of albums and vinyls that big artists release, which are a method that is not at all economical and unfriendly to the planet. The singer did not mention any names in particular, but referred to "big artists" who use certain packaging for their albums.

"We live in this day and age where for some reason it's very important for some artists to make all kinds of vinyl and different packaging that increases sales and profits," Billie said in her interview. with Billboard.
Further, he said:
"I don't even want to say how useless it is. It's right in front of us. I find it very disappointing how someone can't do their best." She took her own example, saying that in her team, everyone is very nature-oriented. "And then some of the biggest artists in the world come in and do 40 different vinyl packages that have something unique just so you go ahead and buy more."
She also said that it is irritating for her because we are at a point where these VIPs care so much about numbers and making money. "All your favorite artists do it," she said with conviction.

In fact, Billie is right, as Taylor Swift alone will release 4 different versions of her Tortured Poets Department album, which will be released on April 19. Each album comes with the same 16 core tracks, but each version has a unique track and album artwork.

As for Billie, she's done her part, as her single "Happier Than Ever" (2021) came in 8 different versions, made from 100% recyclable vinyl and packaged in a sleeve designed by sugar cane. Other options, besides the black vinyl, were made with recyclable materials.
Eilish has also helped fund the music decarbonisation project REVERB, which aims to eliminate carbon emissions from the music industry.
