Bill and Melinda Gates have ended their marriage after 27 years together! The billionaire and his ex-wife have made their divorce decision public, saying they "no longer believe they can grow up as a couple."
"After a long analysis of thoughts and a lot of hard work in our relationship, we have decided to end the marriage," the couple wrote on Twitter.
They first met in 1980, when Melinda joined Microsoft. The billionaire couple are the parents of three children and co-founders of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The foundation aims and spends billions of dollars to fight causes such as infectious diseases or encourage vaccination of children.
During a Netflix documentary, Bill commented on his first meeting with Melinda:
"We were very interested in each other and we only had 2 options. Either we would separate from that moment or we would get married."
And Melinda says that she once found the billionaire while listing on a chart all the advantages and disadvantages of marriage. According to Forbes, Bill Gates ranks fourth on the list of the richest people in the world.
