"A Life With You" is a romantic comedy that sets the stage for the relationship of a newly married couple against the background of contemporary Tirana. The spectator follows the story through the dialectical perspective of the two protagonists. Through this narrative, the author lets us know that the "truth", both in the family environment and in a wider context, is nothing but a personal interpretation of events.
The film's conflict underlines that the construction of "truth" is strongly conditioned by the mentalities that characterize the perception of Genres in current society. The expectations, doubts and prejudices that we have in "men" or "women" and in the roles they are expected to perform in society (woman / man) are not proven or denied by the "facts", but are an essential part of their structure. To clarify this aspect, the characters are served with typical "vices" that renew the comic effect of the scenes.
Ky film, si dhe disa vepra të tjera që janë xhiruar në vitet e fundit, shënon lindjen e një faze të re të kinematografisë Shqiptare. Permbajtja nuk ka të bëj për fenomene si diktatura, varferia, krimi i organizuar, dhuna brutale, kanuni apo emigracioni, tema të cilat janë shfrytëzuar në mënyrë shpeshherë sipërfaqësore dhe pak koherente nga kineastë shqipëtare dhe ndërkombëtare mbas viteve 90”.
Vepra e Kames distancohet nga tematika e lidhur me periudhën e “tranzicionit” dhe fokusohet tek vështirësitë me të cilat ballafaqohet klasa e mesme. Falë kësaj zgjedhje, filmi ndërpret një fazë ekzotifikimi që karakterizon përfaqësimin e shoqërise shqiptare në kinematografinë (nder)kombëtare.
This aspect, which should not be underestimated because it shows the development of a perspective liberated from the transition complexes, is also the result of the work of producers who have managed to make a film without outside support. The work has set the premise for the creation of a stage of "Indie" productions (independent) that will be able to reach the public inside and outside the country without serving the stereotypes that prejudice the worldview towards Albanians and that limit the function of cinematography as a means of communication.
