Happy International Book Day! Whenever something is celebrated about books, I feel a little bit guilty. Not that I read no more than before, not having tens of intact books at home and going to buy more, not constantly exchanging sheets for torturing online minutes; I feel guilty because I do not read Albanian!
You understand me right. The authors who are interested in me are indeed from France and Japan, and when I open the front page, I notice that a book that tempts me is a translation of a translation. A sin. I prefer to read it in English, which is simply a translation instead of two, but nevertheless, it does not strike like ejaculation. Then, I find it difficult to know what is to be read by Albanian authors and what not. Literary criticism in the country, let's say it is absent.
I'm sorry to be so cool about my country's culture, but at least I'm trying.
This April 23 I asked for the help of Kassandra Dragobia , my guru and many others when it comes to culture, music, literature, memet and horoscope. Kassandra is a fresh puff in the hectic whirlwind called Instagram. In her words, "Kassandra Dragobia in free time, having settled accounts with the goddess and the charity, goes to Krasta and contemplates the kumoriat. In every season he listens to Armed Rexhepagic's songs and does not like to keep his hair long like him. "

She suggested the following headlines from Albanian authors. With the exception of the "Letter of the Dead Man's Letter" written in German by Gjadri and "Perfectum Trinitum," in Italian, all the other titles are written in Albanian by Albanian authors.
"Albanian nights" by Mitrush Kuteli
"Bracelets" / Stories / Novels by Martin Camaj
"Night on the Moon" / "Palace of Dreams" by Ismail Kadare
"Be nice" by Mimoza Ahmeti
"The Eye" by Ardian Christian Kyçyku
"Honey on the Blade" by Romeo Collaku
"Let's Let Women Seed Dead" by Gjovalin Gjadri
"Sleep on the Snow" by Ridvan Dibra
"Romance of Happiness" by Gazmend Krasniqi
"Each crazy according to its own way" (3 volumes) by Stefan Capaliku
"Murgu" by Artan Fuga
If you are fond of poetry:
"Negative Space" and "Homo Antarcticus" by Luljeta Lleshanaku
Or, a new edition on the market, "Perfectum Trinum," a collection of poems by Eugenio Montale, Salvatore Quasimodo and Giuseppe Ungaretti, sworn by Zef Zorba.
As lucky enough, look for bakeries or Anton Pashkut's books in the town halls as "Fantastic Tales." One day you will be looking for old prayer publications.
