Gucci has removed a balaclava blouse - a narrow garment covering the whole head and neck except facial parts - just as people exploded on Twitter compared to blackface .
Blackface is a form of theater teasing practiced about 200 years ago in the US by non-colored actors. They began painting their faces in black to mock the Africans. These performances gained popularity in the 19th century and had a powerful and ~ negative influence on the spread of racist stereotypes.
People were revolted and unjustifiably considered the t-shirt model (costing $ 890), also calling for a boycott of the famous brand.
On the other hand, Gucci apologized, stressing that the shirt would be removed immediately. "We consider diversity a fundamental value to be backed up, respected and important to every decision we make."
