Simon Porte Jacquemus has become one of the most influential names in fashion today. Considering how many fashion companies use new figures to drive their brands, it wouldn't be a surprise if the designer were to join a major fashion house. However, it didn't work like that.
He took to Instagram for a conversation he once had with legendary Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
"Five years ago, Anna Wintour asked me if I wanted to work for a major [fashion] house," the post reads, suggesting that Jacquemus had the opportunity to join a famous brand.
"I told him I have a big house. It's called Jacquemus,” he adds. In the caption of the post, the designer states: "The dream starts when you start dreaming."

Jacquemus first launched his brand in 2009, becoming one of the most talked about fashion brands thanks to the famous bags. According to Business of Fashion, Jacquemus is on track to double annual revenue to over €200 million by the end of the year and is expected to reach €500 million by 2025.
