It's not always the perfect Instagram features that win. Science says that there are some small flirtatious moves that make you more desirable in the eyes of the other person.
Psychologist Monica Moore says that those who get the most attention aren't necessarily the prettiest, but those who know how to make eye contact and smile properly. Here are these "strategic moves" that will make you a human magnet — and they're easier than you think.
1. Maintain eye contact.
You may have thought flirting meant a light touch on the arm or a shy smile. Wrong! Science says that staring into each other's eyes, without interruption, for a few minutes, can spark feelings... yes, even passionate love.
2. Touch friendly, but tactful
A light touch on the forearm, or on the shoulder, can be more flirtatious than 200 messages on Instagram. Experts say there are three levels: friendly (on the shoulder), justifiable (forearm or waist) and "atomic" (touch on the face). If you can do this without scaring the other person, you're not flirting, you're performing art.
3. Do something a little difficult.
You've heard it a hundred times and it still works: people want what they can't get easily. Be interested, but not available every second. Give a little, leave a little room for imagination. In short: make them feel like they've discovered treasure when they "have" you.
4. Speak in a seductive voice
Your voice can make you a star or turn you into a lifelong best friend. When you're interested, your voice becomes softer, more fluid. When you don't like someone... speak as if you're showing them your urban taxi driver's pass. Men, for example, don't really get away with this tactic - girls have a natural advantage here. And let's just say that a well-spoken "hey" does more work than a rhyming paragraph.
5. Head slightly down – but not as if your neck is getting heavy
Newcastle University says that when women lower their heads slightly and look up, they appear more attractive. Men, on the other hand, should hold their heads back slightly, as if to say "I'm a man who knows what I want." Without exaggerating, because if you lower them too low, you look like you're looking at the ceiling.
6. Wear red – it never fails
Red is the color that reduces tension but increases attention. Whether it's lipstick, a dress, or an accessory, red is magical. Some studies say that women choose red without realizing it when they're in the mood to flirt (or when that charming guy is nearby). So next time you're going out, think twice before choosing classic black.
7. Be direct.
