According to a 2017 study published in the journal BioMed Central Psychiatry, receiving support messages twice a day helps people with depression or who are going through something difficult cope with the situation much more easily than people without any message. So while it may seem like you are not doing anything great, you may be helping in ways you do not know. Experts suggest similar messages as below to stay close to a friend:
1. I just wanted to tell you that I have you in mind and ask you how you are.
2. Here is a picture of my puppy / cat.
3. If you are going to do something different, tell me to meet and talk a little.
4. Can I call you?
5. If you need company, tell me to go through you.
6. Want something to eat?
7. Tell me if there is any way I can help you.
8. [Favorite meal] is coming to the apartment. Open the courier door for a few minutes. Enjoy your meal!
9. You do not have to answer directly, but I wanted to tell you that I am lucky to have you.
10. I just wanted to tell you that you are a very good friend.
