The court has ruled in favor of doctors Elona Burba and Petrit Rexhepi, who were accused by the family of the deceased 27-year-old Doriana Haka of professional negligence. They have been found guilty of the death of the partner of former goalkeeper Alban Hoxha.
Resuscitation doctor Elona Burba was sentenced to 1 year in prison, a sentence which was converted into 2 years of probation, as well as a suspension of her medical license for 2 years. While surgeon Petrit Rexhepi was also found guilty, being sentenced to 6 months in prison, which was also converted into 1 year of probation.
Although the incident occurred in 2014, two weeks after Doriana gave birth to the couple's son, Bacon, her family sought justice for several years.
