The ship "Madleen" is stopped by the Israeli army on its way to Gaza
Activists aboard the ship "Madleen", which was traveling to Gaza to distribute humanitarian aid, have been detained by Israeli forces, according to a statement from the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC).
In a post on Telegram, the FFC announced that contact with the ship had been lost and published a photo showing people wearing life jackets and raising their hands. The Israeli Foreign Ministry said the ship was heading "safely towards Israeli shores" and that the passengers would be returned to their countries of origin.
Subsequently, a video was released showing the Israeli navy ordering the ship to change course and another showing the passengers unharmed.
Russia claims to have taken 20% of Ukrainian territory
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its troops have reached the western edge of the Donetsk region and are continuing their offensive in the neighboring Dnipropetrovsk region.
It would be the first time Russian troops have entered the area during the three-year war. Ukraine has denied the claims. If confirmed, the Russian advance would deal a serious blow to the Ukrainian military, which is already facing major difficulties on the ground.
Meanwhile, Russian forces have also approached the city of Sumy, from which they had fled at the beginning of the war.
Powerful earthquake strikes Colombia
A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck Colombia on Sunday, the Colombian Geological Survey reported.
The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers and was felt across most of the country. The epicenter was 17 kilometers northeast of the city of Paratebueno, about 186 kilometers southeast of the capital Bogota.
There are no reports of casualties, but several more earthquakes have been recorded in the same area since the first tremor. However, the strong tremors have caused panic among citizens.
Presidential candidate in Colombia attacked with gun
Colombian Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay, a candidate for next year's presidential election, was shot during an electoral rally in Bogota.
The attack took place in a park in the Fontibon neighborhood, where gunmen shot him in the back. Footage on social media showed Uribe, 39, covered in blood.
His party, the Democratic Center, called the attack an "unacceptable act of violence." Medical authorities reported that he is in critical condition and undergoing neurosurgical and vascular interventions.
