Elon Musk makes serious accusations: Trump is mentioned in Epstein files

News in a few minutes: What's happening in the world

Elon Musk has leveled serious accusations at his former colleague and friend, Donald Trump. He has claimed that the US administration has not released all the files on Jeffrey Epstein because they mention the US president.

"Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. This is the real reason they haven't been made public," he wrote on social media X on Thursday night.

The post has been viewed over 10 million times and ends with the words: "Have a great time, DJT."

Musk did not provide evidence for this claim nor did he explain how he came to this conclusion.

"Eurovision 2025" under accusation of vote manipulation

News in a few minutes: What's happening in the world

Two weeks after the end of Eurovision 2025, rumors of televoting manipulation have increased. A group of 12 MEPs from the socialist, left-wing, environmentalist and liberal groups have sent a letter to officials of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), expressing concerns about irregularities in the voting.

The letter comes after criticism from national broadcasters such as those in the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Slovenia, Iceland, Belgium and Finland.

They have questioned the transparency of the voting and the influence of Israeli state-sponsored campaigns in favor of Israel's representative, who came in second this year.

News in a few minutes: What's happening in the world

Saudi Arabia has welcomed more than 1.5 million foreign pilgrims for this year's Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam. However, no figure was given for domestic pilgrims.

This year's figure is about 160,000 lower than last year's and much less compared to the years before the pandemic, when the number of pilgrims often exceeded 2 million.

The record was reached in 2012 with over 3.16 million believers.

US vetoes resolution calling for permanent ceasefire in Gaza

News in a few minutes: What's happening in the world

The United States has vetoed a UN Security Council resolution that called for an "immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire" between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

The US was the only country to vote against, while the other 14 members, including the United Kingdom, voted in favor.

US Ambassador Dorothy Camille Shea said the resolution was unacceptable because it did not call for Hamas to disarm and withdraw from Gaza. She added that any document that undermines Israel's security as a close US ally cannot be accepted.
